GFA offers the

Placements -
This is basically
what we're all about with superb contacts in Scotland, England and
further afield. We contact every club in Scotland (down to tier 4)
and England (down to tier 7) on a regular basis letting them know what
clients we have available and asking them what their future
requirements are. We have good relations and excellent communications
with the British clubs in particular. If a player requests a move to
a specific country then that is no problem. We regularly contact
clubs in Ireland, Scandinavia, Europe, Australia and the US and have
strong links with overseas agents in Asia and the Middle East who can
help us and our players with placements in any given country.
Needless to say we can never guarantee a placement, this is down to
the individual clubs and managers but we do guarantee that we will
always do our best for our players.

Contract
negotiations -
GFA will always
ensure that we secure the best possible contract for a player that we
can. We'll always fight the player's corner and never be intimidated
or bamboozled by jargon, but that's not to say that we'll knock the
backside out of matters either. So often a player simply undervalues
his true worth and value to a team in order to secure a contract and
that's where we can offer a more balanced opinion. But many clubs do
work on a limited budget and we are expert in assessing a good offer
from any given club.

Player
marketing and endorsements -
Whether it's
simply getting a player a couple of complimentary pairs of boots or
shinnies, or more extensive methods of enhancing a player's
marketability we'll be working hard to promote our client's image to
it's maximum potential.

Football regulations
and legal advice
-
We at GFA have an
intimate knowledge of the rules and regulations governing the game of
football, indeed Josey attained the highest mark ever at the SFA's
FIFA players' agent exam (95%). If you ever have a query or grievance
just let us know and we'll be happy to advise. If you have a
non-footy legal problem give us a shout and we'll be happy to point
you in the right direction.

Financial
advice -
With our affiliate
financial company we can offer a wide range of mortgage, saving,
pension, accountancy and investment solutions should they be required.

Further
education and training -
Footy careers can
be short. This is something that we recognize and help our players
plan for with advice on further education and training.
Retirement from football and supplementary incomes are also matters
that we can help with.

well and good but many agencies offer these services?
Okay, how about
these also?

Non-exclusive
contracts -
GFA only uses
non-exclusive player/agent contracts. This means that if you secure
your own placement with a club by yourself (or someone other than GFA
acting on your behalf does) then GFA won't be due a penny, and
rightly so! We've heard so often of a player doing all the hard graft
for themselves only for an agent to slap a totally undeserved
commission on the player's wages! Well, not us - if we don't earn it,
you don't pay it. If we do find you a club but you want to negotiate
the contract yourself we like to think that we've done enough to earn
our commission.

Extremely
competitive commission -
GFA offers a
commission rate of 5% of a players gross annual income (i.e. before
tax deductions, etc.). This is simply an excellent rate. But don't
take our word for it, phone around and get informed. Why so
competitive? Because it doesn't need to be ridiculously high. We
believe that no agent is worth 10, 15, 20% of his clients annual
income. We only ask for a fair fee for a fair job done.

No other fees -
Alright, where's
the hidden fees you might ask? The opt-out charges, signing-up fee,
commission on bonuses, etc? Well, there are none! There are
absolutely no fees, charges, commissions or payments due other than
the 5% of a player's gross annual income and even that's only when we
actually do the work!

Payment deferral-
GFA offers two
payment plans when we are due a commission. The first is within 28 days of signing
up with a club which we secured for you; the second is payment for
any commission due a year after signing up with GFA. In other words,
with option two if you sign with us in March and we get you a
placement in May then our commission won't be due until March the
following year.
Can I see a
copy of your player/agent contract?
Absolutely, just
ask and we'll email or post one out.
The commission (5%), dates and player's personal details, etc. are
filled in by pen. It looks a bit long-winded but is fairly straight
forward. We always recommend that you discuss the contract with
someone you trust but give us a shout if you have any specific questions.
What about this
Josey Rowan guy?
Josey is our FIFA
players' agent licenced by the SFA. It's
him who personally negotiates with clubs on your behalf. As mentioned before he got the highest ever
mark at the SFA players' agent exam so he knows his oats. He also has a Law Degree (LLB) and Diploma in Legal Practice (DipLP) which helps provide supplemental expertise to the
agency and its clients. A Scotland fan Josey constantly
bores his mates by telling them he was at the Scotland v Brazil
opener at France '98. A sports (football) photographer before
establishing GFA Josey has football in the blood.
